YO GEORGIANS! :)

One is starting to zip. A few more are rolling around. I love the design of this incubator. It's bigger than my forced air. Jus laying them flat, I'm pretty sure I can fit about 65 eggs in and with the bottom being deeper I can tetris stack. Woo Hoo!

Yeah! I have one too. The thermostat circuit board stopped working on it so I have to order a new one. I'm also getting a hovabator genesis I 1586 to do comparison hatches and use them for big hatches or a hatcher. I've got geese eggs in the incubator and I'm getting some Muscovy eggs today to put in there, too.

I'm having a heck of a time with getting my temp up now that my eggs are in. :( I've never had this problem. It's stuck at 99.5/100 on top of my eggs.. Just high enough that I'm scared to push it too much lol

Thanks LTygress. Also just found a GLB egg has a crack. :( Warming my wax now to try and seal it per abmaddox advice. How often is this successful?

It depends on the crack. If it has already started to develop, and the crack is small or "invisible" (can only be seen when candled), it'll work. But if the crack is big, the shell is actually punched in, etc., then it likely won't work.

For example, I have a silkie egg sitting in a bucket to go back outside IN the chicken feed because I bumped it, and a good dent that covered about half the egg was made. Several actual cracks were made, and they stretched the full length of the egg. The membrane wasn't affected so I tried to incubate it anyway. But the crack was just too big. And I think the membrane MAY have been pierced, but I just couldn't see it. But I've had another egg with a "punched in" area about the size of a pencil eraser, and it developed and hatched just fine.

Wow... Just saw an article that is saying January 2014 was the fourth warmest on record.

SAY WHAT?!?

Polar Vortex on January 6th. Snow storm on January 29th that killed Atlanta. Ice storm on February 12th. And it was supposed to be one of the WARMEST?

I didn't click the link, but it HAS to be a fake "news" site that it links to.

Okay. There is no dent.. Just a hairline crack I noticed when I shone my light in there by the ever so slight color difference. Took it out and can feel the crack, but nothing leaking. So I will seal it and cross my fingers.

Oh yeah, it should definitely be fine.
