Hopefully she's very careful about allowing them to go home. When I do hatching for classes here I make sure to meet with the parents (or at the very least talk to them on the phone) and am sure to explain what the needs are for properly caring for a new chick through to adult chicken.By the way, the teacher from Conyers that contacted me wanting eggs...
She's covering FIVE total 1st grade classes, so she needs about 100 eggs to hatch (20 per class). But they moved the set week to April 11th. That's pretty far in advance, so if any of you think you can spare some eggs around then, let me know, and I can pass on the information.
Since they are doing it for a class, there is a chance that you could probably ask for the chicks back (or at least most of the chicks) once the eggs are hatched. I can only imagine the trouble this lady may have with 100 newly-hatched chicks and a bunch of first graders who can't keep them.
