Hi from not-quite-as far south . I have been wanting to try quail, and keep seeing the ads for the place in Griffin, but didn't know anyone who'd used them before. How do you like the quail? My biggest concerns are the noise (heard they can be noisy -but so are my roosters), and the frail chicks (heard they are harder than chickens).

not noisy at all, the hens sound exactly like crickets and the roos a funny little sound. Nothing like a chicken rooster at all!

Harder to incubate than chickens but the chicks aren't any harder to raise. I love my birds. Check out josh in griffin's fa ebook page, quail king and also there is a quail forum here

What do people do with quail? Always been curious.

I guess you could eat them but it would take too many to feed our herd

I've considered quail. Still thinking about adding some in the future.
