So the Barred Rock Rooster that DixieChickGA gave us..... I let him out of his cage yesterday for some exercise. He hung out with me while I was doing other stuff around the big chicken pen. He kept messing with one of the hens through the wire. So I let him in the pen while I was there to supervise... (don't want him to be bar rocking the Marans dontchaknow) So anyhow, one of the Marans WHIPPED HIS *****!!! It was hilarious. I have never seen a hen fight like a rooster the way this one does. This is the second time she's done it. A new rooster goes in, she goes after him and the fight is on. And she wins! So I had to save him. And he bit me. So later, after he's been rescued and put back outside the fence and it's bed time, I go to pick him up. Well he's not ready to go so he bit me again. I'm starting to think he's Barred Rottweiler. But I like him so he gets to go in the "mixed bird" quadrant when we get the new pen built.
