Ok, so GAM traumatized some of our chicks today.  She has decided to commandeer some of my good storage bins in which to keep the little peepers.  They seem happy enough..... Up until said bin, which is sitting on top of a pile of other stuff and barely balanced, fell over and dumped the chicks out.  Luckily the big goofy German Shepherd with the ridiculous prey drive was locked in her crate.  The little dog couldn't care less.... most likely because he knows the chicks could probably take him.  Anyhow, when Ms. Chickenabuser got home, she could only find some of the chicks wandering aimlessly about the kitchen.  It wasn't until she righted the bin that she discovered that the rest had been buried alive under the pine shavings.  Everyone survived but I need to contact a chicken therapist now.
