I just got back into chickens now that we have the property. So my intent is to first get my flock going then use them for both eggs and meat. So far I'm just have some free range game hens a friend gave me and six baby buff Orpington chicks in the brooder. Thanks to the peeps here I'm learning alot about different breeds. So research first, then dive head over heels into it.

I did no research on my first purchases and came home with cornish rocks and they eat a ton. Think they might be bound for the grill.

anyone had a cornish rock as a laying chicken. I have seen mixed reviews, most of them say they die prematurely
