That is a cool website! I have one Dominique Chick (the breeder wanted me to get her because the breed needs preserving). Read this on the site about them:

By 1970 only 4 known flocks remained, held by: Henry Miller, Edward Uber, Robert Henderson, and Carl Gallaher. Through the effort of dedicated individuals the remaining owners were contacted and convinced to participate in a breed rescue.

I had no idea they had become that rare in the 70's.

Yeah I really adore that little 5 week old chick. She is by far the most mellow and friendliest of the bunch (they are supposed to be that way) and sooooo incredibly soft and fluffy! Even the adult feathers! I really like that breed.
