I'm not sure about what I am about to ask you, but maybe one day, I can come over and you can show me how to process a chicken. I don't know if I could ever do it, but right now I am giving away all my boys and I don't doubt some of them get eaten. It does seem crazy not to eat them myself......but, they are like pets and I name them! Ugh! I can't decide if I want to learn how or not!

LOL. I completely understand. I named my first roo, and had to butcher him because he got too aggressive. It was a little hard, but after that I decided to stop naming my chickens. They are pets, but I have an understanding now that I will eventually eat all of them, even the layers. It's hard to explain, but doing the deed helped me to get a handle on it.

With that roo, I actually skinned it instead of plucking it. Next time I will try plucking it, because I like cooking chicken with the skin on for flavor.
