YO GEORGIANS! :)

So sorry to hear.
I'm very near you, hinesville, we have vultures out here could that be a possibility? Or hawks?

Last year I lost a chicken to a hawk but there was a carcass and so many feathers that it looked like a chicken exploded.  I'm not sure if a hawk can carry off a full grown chicken but maybe an eagle??

Buzzards/vultures don't attack live animals. Hawks can't carry a full grown large fowl but can and will carry off bantams. If there was a carcass, could be a hawk, raccoon or possum. Could also be a coyote. All of those will attack during the day, but prefer to hunt at night. I have had coons on my property during the day but they rarely survive the experience.

Good morning everyone.

@Donna Gerlach I'm sorry about your chicken; I would go with stray dog as the culprit; I hope it doesn't bother you again :(.

@roboduck this trip is so top- secret, i don't even know when we're going!

I'm really in need of coffee, but I can't get out of the blankets I'm buried in. The little zookeeper and I tried to get up and moving when Mr. Zoo left for work but we were too cold, so we huddled together. It seems that we have a system malfunction with our heating and air and the heat didn't come on last night. I have been away from New England too long; I can't deal with chilly mornings any more :p The sleeping kid on me makes it even harder to move ;)

This happens every day!

Ok, fess up. Who snatched up the six ducklings from CL last night? There were 3 Anconas and 3 Welsh Harlequin. They were gone this morning.
