YO GEORGIANS! :)

Flower your pics make me want more color layers. And I've even been considering a white egg layer too.. But is there anything that lays white but isn't white itself??
Yes! Polish, brown leghorns, Lakenvelders, Andalusian, Sicilain Buttercups, German Spitzhauben, Hamburgs, Capines, Samatras. Anacona, Egyptian Fayoumi, and White Sultans, to name some!

I had taken my daughter a Serama pullet a few weeks ago....remember, she was the one who gave the pie party.....yum! Anyway, she got her first egg yesterday and she was sooooo excited!

Fairly big egg for a Serama, the world's smallest chickens! I wonder if it is a double!

Oh, and here is a cute photo she sent of her new kitten meeting her Hedgehog, Dexter.

Really excited. I am going to be incubating some more of my friends hatching eggs! I have 7 of my duck eggs in the bator now. The chicken eggs get added on Tuesday. And guess what, a friend of mine is going to GIVE me some French Black Copper Marans eggs to add to them. I don't know much about FBCM. Are they different from BCM? Can you tell the girls from the boys at birth like you kind-of can with BCM? (head spots) If I get chicks, how much can I sell them for? Any info on FBCM would be appreciated. Thanks.

What is going on with my girls!  I have orders for eggs and today I only have 6 eggs so far, and 2 are pullet size eggs I can't sell!  I was hoping for the usual 14!  Are they just loving the weather too much to go inside to lay an egg?!?

That chicken union is tough. They don't lay in the fall because they are molting. They don't lay in the winter because it is too cold. They don't lay in the spring because the weather is too nice and they don't want to go inside. And they don't want to lay in the summer because it is too hot. I think we need a new contract.
