YO GEORGIANS! :)

I've had the same problem. If I take both of my digital thermometers out of the 'bator and leave them in my room, they'll either match temperature, or they'll be only one degree off. But when they get above 90, the difference between them becomes bigger and bigger. That's why I'm just sticking with the mercury version (although they aren't REALLY mercury anymore).
Ok thanks. I did have hubby pick up the $.99 merc one for me today, and it's dead on with the original mercury. Which totally dashes my theory of too-low temp for the un-hatch this past week, but I digress. :/

Went to hang with the chicks after I let the Big Girls back in from free ranging. Things are going great with the integration, chicks are just learning to be big kids. :)

My Marans are surprisingly clingy. I had noticed when they were still caged, they were always very loud when I'd come around. Well today the splash pullet jumped up onto my shoulder while the cockerel tried to figure out how to get on my lap, lol (I was squatting).. Anyway, here's my splash girl

The rose-colored egg was first to hatch!

Now to figure out WHAT it is. Care to chime in, abmaddox? Who do you have laying these rose-colored eggs? I think I might know who DADDY is. I have to wait until it goes fluffy to see. But which hen is this?

THANK YOU!
My only concern at this point is the warnings on the stuff. I didn't buy sevin brand dust. I bought something else because it said "poultry" on it. I figured it's basically the same thing. Do you wear a mask when doing this? And I guess it's safe for dogs after the dust is dispersed like that. I worry because my Dobie eats everything. I had him at the emergency vet last year when he ate something outside that was moldy. Anyway, I can't afford that vet bill again. Just trying to be cautious. Possibly overly so.

I wear a mask or bandana across my nose and mouth. Be sure to blow your nose afterwards, too. If you blow the dust around with a leaf blower, I don't think the dog could 'eat' anything.

Nice healthy looking chicks! I just sold 4 of my young hens. 2 had just started laying and two were at POL. I got $60 for the four! I had too many brown egg layers. Now I won't feel bad keeping some of the chicks I hope to hatch. They are OE. And FBCM. Nice new dark colored eggs!

Golly this chat moves at lightening speed now. The Polish house is fully up and running and occupied with my two Tolbunts. It is separated into 3 separate breeding pens with their own runs. Fred is in one next to my sweet little girl until she begins laying. He is so macho crowing all the time for her but throughout the day they can be found snuggled against each other with only chicken wire separating them. Over in the hen house My very broody white silkie Sophia who has been diligently trying to hatch very ones eggs is going to get some fertile Maran eggs t sit on and had the chance to be a Mama. It's her first time so I'm splitting the eggs, some for her and some for the incubator.
