And speaking of Rocky Rhodes.... GAM just brought in a few of the hatchlings from up around Cherry Log. They are feathering out quite nicely and becoming very pretty birds.

I'm so happy that you're happy. How's that CCL cockerel coming along? Most of the cockerels that I have left have impressive crests developing.

I just buy the incubators for GAM. She operates them. I don't know what all she has done. I come home from work, pay her to stay another day, and go to bed.

hear are the pics of the duck feeder i built, i am working on another on that will be larger this one the food bin is 2 foot long and 3in deep on the next one it will be 3 foot and about 5in deep so that it will feed all the ducks at one time

Thanks so much but I googled the Cornish rock and hit the jack pot. They look just like big Fernando. He's moving better but very heavy. I hope I can keep him alive. He's a hoot!! Definitely my favorite.

They say the incubation time for goose eggs tends to go by their adult size. Some will go at 28 days, but typical time for small and medium breeds is 30 days. My sebbies (same size as pilgrims) took 30 days exactly. The larger breeds like Toulouse, tend to take more like 32-34. Either way, 28 days is still pretty early. I'd start looking for the internal pip around then, or at least shadows. But you might not see either one by then either.

He might have gotten a leg injury, which would cause a cornish rock to stop dead in their tracks and not move at all. They are so heavy compared to their bone structure, that the slightest leg injury will make them completely immobile.

If he's moving better, then it may be healing. Good luck with him, either way!


By the way, I got to see one of my own cornish rocks try to jump up yesterday to get a moth flying by. It was the funniest sight, with their little plump butts!
