YO GEORGIANS! :)

I totally agree BUT...

Honey I've had more thermometers than I can count.

I've had mercury, digital, spike.. At the moment I have the one that came with the bator right beside the one from WalMart y'all suggested. Both mercury.. Both between 101-102 degree
I find the thermometer thing to be so frustrating. I think I have it corrected now but my first hatch was only 34% and I think it was because the hygrometers and thermometers were all wildly off the mark. Now on this second hatch I bought two exactly the same and I tested them first. We'll see what happens.

My beautiful and extremely talented wife just finished making these for my girls. Who hit the wife lotto... This guy.

You must have hit the chicken lotto as well. When I tried this a few years ago my chickens all had fits and tore them off then slammed them on the ground and stomped on them. I kid you not I actually saw a few of them get thrown down in disgust. LOL

My girls picked at them for a few minutes and then forgot about them. I am new to saddle aprons, but so far so good.

Chickendancer I love you coop! Its a lot like mine but I built mine out of ppr tubing for water and used a welder that works kinda like a glue g <n. Smaller mesh to keep out everything and mine is long and tall. 8x7x4 and I figured out a way to tie my doors. I knotted a rope passed it through the mesh then pull it back through the other doors mesh. I have a partial door with a partial panel of mesh behind. If ican get photos to upload I will post them. Maybe resuable zipties? Cufflinks? Small chain with padlock? I was worried mine were trying to get out but soon as I shake the food bucket they come back. I used a old crate as a shelter with a blanket over a lamp inside for cooler nights and they go in and out as they like. During the day they roost on top at nigt they all go inside. Im working on my FF now. Working great and only cost me around 200 bucks and 20 minutes to make the pipes and a hour or so cause it was alone time doing the mesh..little red hen most days here. Got another of my babies trying to crow but xont know who yet. Also if any one can help id my new hen Rosie the Riveter! Breed and age she is bigger thsn the roo I traded her for. So more than 6mo old. Trying to get two kids shipped back to usa this week so things hectic.

I have some Easter Eggers I'd be willing to give her, or maybe a Sumatra in the future (no chicks right now). But I want to wait for the Georgia Poultry Lab to give me results before I promise anything.

As for distance, I'm about 30 miles off of exit 93 on I-20. I know the main Thomson exit is number 172. So that's about a two-hour drive.

Let us know how the testing goes! If we wear plastic bags on our shoes can we see your chickens? (we asked the lady yesterday if we could see her chickens and she said she doesn't allow it for biosecurity reasons. Very smart! I wish I would have thought of the plastic bag thing then! LOL)

That looks so much like a Rhode Island Red. Although I'm not sure if they would be called the same thing in Libya, since we named them after a state, here.
