I just found a listing for a free chicken coop North of Atlanta if anyone is interested in seeing if it is still available. http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/zip/4497654824.html

No guineas but ... Howdy neighbor. Welcome to the board.Carrollton GA newbie to birds. Been keeping other animals my whole life. Looking to start with guineas and maybe branch into some bantams in a few years. Any guinea raisers near me? Thanks.
Eggs startered piping about 2pm yesterday still nothing looks like it it will be a long day waiting on these chicks. I want to see something besides beaks.
I have 4 chicks that have hatched and 6 more that have piped today![]()

And more good news today! But not with chickens. Also not about ducks, geese, or turkeys.
For thay matter, it's not even about birds!
I'm sure many of you got a kick out of the photo of two turtles breeding back in February. Well I caught one of them digging a hole with her hind legs and laying her eggs, finally!

This means my chicken eggs are about to be limited to one incubator and one hatcher, while the third incubator goes to incubating turtle eggs! Woot! And if these hatch, and I get at least one female, Mama turtle will be released back into the wild!
I'm glad I caught her laying though, and knew to check for eggs. This female was bred later than my other one, so I dug around the tank for the other girl's eggs and found them. But they were busted open by something and already dried out and the shells were starting to rot. So had I not known about these and removed them when I did, they might be destroyed too!
