YO GEORGIANS! :)

Stupid question: are chicken eggs incubated for 21 or 24 days?

21 days for chickens, but like QA said, until they hatch. Some chicks can wait an extra 3 days or so. A lot depends on the incubator temp. Slightly too high can hatch chicks early. Slightly too low and they can be late. Too high or too low can kill them.

It's hard to respond to this thread and keep Robo entertained when you no longer have normal internet, and your phone isn't even a smart phone.
It's ok. I entertain myself well enough.

Hahaha  My daughter in Washington DC drinks them.  She likes to announce that she needs Sweet Baby Jesus!
That's awesome :gig

And Robo, while I agree snakes aren't out to get us, I don't rely on their wish to be left alone. I worry more about their heat-sensing and other instincts kicking in just as I move.. That, and their uncanny ability to smell fear. :lau

Look in the learning section. There is a lot of inf,o about hatching.

I have a broody that's been sitting since June 1. It's been 26 days. The last time she went broody, it was 21 then she was done. Not sure when she plans on getting up this time though

We might need to visit this place someday. www.poultryhollow.org

Oh, and while perusing Craig's List, I found an ad for a Silkie that is apparently VERY broody and they said you could use her to hatch out your duck, geese and turkey eggs. Now I don't know a whole lot about silkies but just how many goose eggs do you think you could shove under her and still have them covered?
