The first batch of rain went through so I went out to check on the three groups of chickens. The free rangers were soaked. They had been under my truck but with the rains swirling they still managed to get wet. The mini coop group had puddles of water in their run and the nest boxes were wet (not sure how this happened). The large group had a creek running through their run. I think we now have a moat around our home. Other than all of that, things went pretty good. Now for the second batch of rain. Oh and I found our Buckeye rooster (5 months old) in one of the nest boxes. I had to do a double take because I thought he was a hen at first sight. I got him out of course. Has anyone ever had a rooster do that before?
