Hey. Had friends from FL. Spent the day showing them the beautiful North Ga mountains. Then four wheeling around the property and then they all helped to clean the chicken coops! So we all had a good time!
 
It's been a busy day working around the house today. After working on new feeders that hold food for several days today and getting them set up we headed over to our daughter and son in laws house to eat with them and to leave our dog with them for the weekend. I put our 14 year old Jack Russell, "Jackie" on the back seat. I did not know that her leash had gotten closed in the door when I unhooked it from her. I thought it was on the back seat with her. As I drove over to their house (an 8 mile ride) we heard a loud pop. I knew I hadn't run over anything and thought maybe a bat or bird had flown into the side of my CRV. We heard it again another mile down the road and then a loud POW sound. It sound like a gun had went off just before we got to their house. We didn't stop to see what was making the noise because it was dark out and we were on a highway with no where to stop except someones driveway. Uh no. We figured out it was the leash when I couldn't find it. The noise scared our dog so bad she is refusing to eat and trembling. We brought her back home with us and will wait to see how she does during the night. I just hope it didn't give her a stroke.

I've had an issue with these two neighborhood dogs pre chickens, told the owner my dog was about to kill them, owner didn't care...well now one of those dogs attacked my chickens. I've got 1 barred rock missing hope she will be back and my egg layer, RRI, she got it bad! Wound on the tail I can see her organs...I got her in a dark room and cleaned her a tad...trying to see maybe I could find a vet? I mean crap shes moving and everything but dang thats a bad wound...Pisses me off idiots having dogs. I'll trap them and bring them to the pound two counties away

Can you go threaten the owner of the Dogs with the vet bill?
 
Question:

I didn't get out to see the world this morning (So sick....) by chance was there frost? Someone said there was but isn't it a bit early for that?
 
I have a webcam in my coop so I can spy on the chickens. LOL I have been watching most of the morning and my other Maran is sitting on the eggs...... she needs to get the heck up! She can not go broody right now. My only other Maran has chicks she is caring for so no eggs from her. Truly though I have too many chicks, we don't need more. LOL I am about to send the kids out there to lock that Maran out of the coop to free range for the rest of the day! Please no more Broody hens!
