Yes, yay!! I did notice the light one having big puffy cheeks when I took her out last night. Didn't get a good look at the black one and didn't want to bother her again.. I do already have 9 of their eggs in the bator on day 9 (for the NY HAL) and looking great! :clap

EEs are so much fun! We have 4 that lay a blue/green egg and I managed to get one of their eggs in the NY HAL. I hope I don't have anymore egg accidents. I'm worried silly over the one the BO kicked. If the chick makes it in that egg and its a rooster I'm calling it Dent.

Where is this and when do they start getting chicks?  Also, where did you find that wonderfully beautiful chicken?

TSC. Somewhere around the middle to end of February. One of my customers has a friend with many many birds that are all intermingled and he gives him all the fertilized eggs to hatch. He ends up with some awesome barnyard mixes. He is who I've gotten my brahma, silkie x D'Uccle and 2 showgirls from. This one is a polish x Silkie with the frizzle gene.

Do all Tractor Supply Stores get their chicks from the same hatchery or do they come from different ones so there are enough to supply all the stores?

Hatcheries vary by region so that the chicks do not spend too much time traveling and so that they are able to meet our demand. Last year we sold around 1,500-2,000 chicks and 200-300 ducks.

And a few just for fun..

Olive, she deserves a pic because she has been surprisingly accepting of the four new kids.. In spite of her rep as top hen as long as I've had her (she's the only one left of my first-ever chickens).. She has take all of this in stride :love

And this one. Because does anyone else have this problem!? I'm guessing they start ramming into it when it starts getting low? Ugh soo much wasted.. :(
