YO GEORGIANS! :)

I would certainly do that before making such a mess in my garage. Where GAM processes ours at the farm looks like big bird exploded.

If she'd put away the 12-gauge it'd be a lot cleaner.

ROFL! You two are cracking me up!

Can the blood just be washed into the soil or is it considered a bio-hazard that has to be discarded in a specific manner?

Has anyone ever heard of this place? Sounds like they have anything you could ever want? They even have the type Leghorn ive been wanting.

Just got off the phone with the owner. He wants to make a big showing at the chicken swap. I told him about you and he said if he's got the chicks you want he will bring them to the event. Email him or Facebook him and let him know what it is you are looking for.

Unles your chickens have Hep C, I would just let it soak in. If there is a lot, you could spray it down with a water hose to dilute it. This would serve several purposes... (Especially during warm weather) hold down smell, less flies, less chance of attracting predators like possums and neighbors' cats.

Is there a way to test for Hep C?

It would be somewhere between 3-6 to be processed at a time, I'm thinking. I would only be feeding my family and would want the chickens to have each other for company until they are old enough to butcher.

You can certainly wash it into the ground but I try to catch as much as I reasonably can in a bucket for later disposal.

The feathers really do go everywhere but a rake should get most of that cleaned up. I tend to skin more birds than I pluck (until I get my new plucker set up and running, anyway). It is easier and doesn't make near the mess.

I wouldn't mind an audience. I have a few local folks that are already asking me to show them. Too bad we'd freak out the "normal" people that might be at Cliff's TSC swap thingy or I could show you there. lol
