Unles your chickens have Hep C, I would just let it soak in. If there is a lot, you could spray it down with a water hose to dilute it. This would serve several purposes... (Especially during warm weather) hold down smell, less flies, less chance of attracting predators like possums and neighbors' cats.

You can certainly wash it into the ground but I try to catch as much as I reasonably can in a bucket for later disposal.Can the blood just be washed into the soil or is it considered a bio-hazard that has to be discarded in a specific manner?
