YO GEORGIANS! :)

For your actual hatch?? I stay at least 45%, preferably 50-60. (And thinking back, it was 31%, not 37.. Photographic memory lapse)

oh! No, I was thinking the first 18 days! No, I like 55 -65% on last 3 days! Did you see, I have 23 out and 9 more pipping! (out of 32 eggs) Still hoping those last 2 will pop out.

oops, I meant 7 more pipping! Hard to keep track sometimes! BTW, my incubator is teeming with active little chicks. They are sitting all over the ones trying to get out. Quick, talk me out of taking some of those chicks out and putting them in the bator!

Congratulations. Can we see pictures?

Nice hatch!!!

How many eggs did you start with?

What are you doing with your hatch?

I did not see that, not much time for catching up today. But congrats!! I see your correction up there. Though by now I'm sure it really is nine lol.

Days 1-18.. I won't even tell you how low I run humidity until this hatch is out just so I don't jinx it. ;) But I've had the BEST luck with it so I've just left it, though it scares me when I think of it.

Aahhh!! Three pips now! Still just the one Marans but now two EE.

My numbers for lockdown are eight BCM and three EE.

3 out of my 4cochins hatched the last one made it half way through ziping and then passed. I have no idea what happened I have never had one do that before. But the next batch is in licky down now and I think I have a golden campine in there.

I crammed 54 eggs from my chickens into a 42 slot incubator because I knew all the eggs wouldn't be fertile. (I have one adult roo to about 25 laying hens). So, at 10 days, I candled them. I removed 22 non fertile eggs. That left me with 32. Right now, 26 have hatched and 4 more are pipping and two are still none active.

A bunch of us who are hatching right now are planning on selling them at the chicken event in McDonough on Feb 14!

Oh, have to tell you this cute story. Two days ago, my DH and I go to a new feed store to check it out. My DH was just standing in the isle waiting for me. Some man comes up to him and says, "You look like a man who knows all about chickens, can I ask you some questions about mine?" hahhahahhahahahhahahah! Those who know my DH knows THAT was not a thing to say to him! (He thinks we all have an incurable disease (that he can't understand) that makes us go crazy for our chickens. He says he is going to find a cure for all of us if it's the last thing he does! hahahhaha!" Not only that, but DH wants to know what "a man who knows all about chickens" is suppose to look like! I mean, he wasn't wearing coveralls or anything and he has all his teeth! hahhahahah! So, he was kind-of put out! Poor DH! Of course, I answered all the man's questions!
ROFL! I can just see his face when the guy said that. LOL!

Holy CRAP y'all!! Leaving my conference and hubby texted that I have a MARANS PIP!!!!

I'm finding more and more folks that run much lower humidity levels, even for hatch. I know that I was frequently in the low 30s last year and still had insanely good hatch rates on local eggs. Shipped eggs still did great ... just fighting the usual stuff with them being shipped. I'm sure your eggs will be fine and I can;t wait to hear how the hatch goes.
