Oh man, I am sooooo upset! Went down to turn on the broody light to warm up for my new chicks. Came back and noticed my little NN wasn't moving. Somehow it had gotten it's head stuck in part of the incubator and died! This little mini is so small, the chicks heads almost brush the top of the unit where all the gears, heat, etc are! It was the first little NN that was hatched! The second chick was from the same Mom but not a NN. One more from that mom is hatching. Ugh! This is the second NN that I have lost in freaky accident situations! I do not like this little Mini and will be glad when my big unit comes! So sad for little baby.
That is heart breaking.
I am so sorry to hear about your poor chicks.
Didn't you say he came from Papa? Do you plan to keep him? I'd love to see how his color turns out. He's got a lot lf bleed right now, but I never know what will mature out and what won't. My blue partridge roo I have right now was pretty clean from the get-go.
