The cone is my favorite. If you can find someone nearby to help, I think you'll be happy with it, given the circumstances. I have no problem with wringing necks but I can't personally do it with any forethought. Hubby is my neck wringer.I could really use some help/advice. My Delaware Ferrari is getting worse. She's barely a year old and is so wobbly, it's heartbreaking. On the rare occasions when she's standing, her legs are shaking. Usually she is laying on the back of her legs.
My personal beliefs are very strong in not allowing an animal under my care to suffer. As much as I hate it, I really think she needs to be euthanized. I've never used a kill cone to slit a chicken's throat before, but my research says that is the most humane method. I hate to even ask this, but is there anyone that can help me put her down humanely?
I can pay a reasonable fee. Her best interests are the most important thing right now. Heck-if someone thinks they can give her a better life or fix it, I'd be happy to give her away as long as I knew they could handle her issues and keep her pain-free.
Good luck to you and I'm so sorry.
