Okay work is done and DH has been a sweetie keeping me posted. I came home yesterday to a surprise hatch on day 21. One of my little Mottled Cochin Bantams hatched out. Today day 22 another joined in the fun and yet another is mid Zip….well so much for a 19 day hatch for my bantams. Oh and talk about spoiled. Little 21 day (no name yet) won't stop crying unless it can crawl up into my hand and go to sleep. Does anyone know how painful it is to kneel on hard tile with ribs against the tub and your arm stretched into the chick box rocking a chick and snuggling it up into an old sock under the heat until it goes to sleep….

Yep to a certain extent then I got smart and got another chick!!

I love the sound of my late hatching little cochins but somehow I think DH might feel differently in the middle of the night lol and yes it warms my heart when little 21 day seeks out my hand to jump in an snuggle up to then drift off to sleep that way. Now all of that said really it's been a long day at work and Mama's knees don't like the hard tile for a long time…too many marathons.
 
Technically a chick could get caught in the turner but I've never had it happen in well over 1000 chicks hatched in those things. Only time I had a chick harmed in a turner was when it was accidentally left plugged in.
 
Ok Robo,

These are 2 videos from their first meet & greet with all 4 birds together. It was last week. in the first one, Dorothy, the main one in question is the one charging everyone and basically running around like a crazy. The 2nd, is her squaring off with Blanche, the other in question. You can clearly see a major size difference where Dorothy was a bit stunted, but that gap is nearly closed now. She's catching up nicely.
