My Black Java Bantam is sitting on 8 eggs!!! I finally got a look talk about a crowded nest she has poor thing has to stretch to cover them all


The fox tried and tried to get into the pen last night!! I won!!! the birds are all safe and sound!! and still have a bullet with the fox's name on it.

We've been pretty busy, but now that it's monsoon time I can't get anything done outdoors! My poor, soggy garden. My chicks are growing well, but I'm afraid that instead of a Swedish Flower pullet, the breeder gave me a Jersey Giant by mistake. It's not like I'm going to return her, I'm just bummed. I'll be sending the breeder pictures today. Also had to go home to Illinois last week, my grandfather was crashing from end-stage Alzheimer's. My sister from Texas also managed to make it up in time. We both got to say goodbye, and he recognized us, before lapsing into a coma. We both had to head back on Sunday, and he passed peacefully on Monday morning. I will never forget him butchering chickens in front of us grandkids, just popped their heads off! I was traumatized. Headless chickens flapping around the yard. Good times. A get together sounds great right now, Robo! My kids would love to see the goats:)

I'm sorry about the loss of your grandfather and glad you got to see him, that will help tremendously. Now think of the most precious memory you have besides killing chickens

Baby pictures :) Here are my 2 Texas Mottled bantam Cochins hatched out this week. Very spoiled and cheep non stop even with plenty of heat, water and food.They only stop when snuggled up under my long hair and by my neck. Makes it hard to function around here lol.

looks like the one there on the left is giving you that "I didn't want my picture taken" stink eye my girls gave me when they were teenagers..........LOL

Hey Buddy! I just got finished reading about 5 pages of posts. Got behind. Our grand daughter went home finally yesterday from the NICU.

I'm definitely interested! If you have as many females as you think you do, I'll take one female each of the OE and the legbars! I will be going on the 2nd, so I can get them there. :)
