Agreed also katsdar,is this the therm that comes with the bator? If so have you calibrated if? The ones that came with my Styros were tacked on with little metal brackets and could slide 2* either direction. I calibrated and electrical taped them into place.

If yours are the same you might try that?
 
Sticky and gooey is humidity. After years of successful hatching I'm battling humidity issues too. Except the 60 was my successful lockdown humidity before yet this time I have chicks zipping then having the membrane dry to them before they can push out! Had 2 pip then turn opposite the pip hole in the shell without zipping thus suffocating! WTH is up with that?! I use a sunbeam household hygrometer. Looks like I'm in for a low hatch rate too. 32 in at lockdown, 5 out (2 with assistance) and 2 dead already. But I said if my broody only got 50/50 I should continue. Kat- If lockdown Wednesday then hatch day wa Saturday right? I'd keep an eye on any that pip to be sure they were progressing. Definitely give them more time for pipping cuz they could just take another few days. Don't rely on the hygrometer/ thermometer that comes with or is on the TSC bator. It says for reference only and what it really means is buy me cuz I look nice: they don't work. Walmart has .97 cents thermometers and near the humidifiers or in kitchen wares they have different hygrometers. Either way we are playing Mother Nature so we'll never be as perfect as her but we sure can try! I hope you get a better hatch than me

I use these and they've been great but even so I like to have 1-2 other thermometers in the styrofoam incubators, too ... just to be sure.
 
Haha!! I was just thinking, why didn't I face all the air cells toward the window? At least they'd be that way til they really get going..

I'm super excited. I've got 26 eggs in there. This could be my biggest hatch ever!! However these did spend the first 2/3 of the time in the styrofoam bator.. I still think this last week gave them a great boost.

26? Wow, there must be a heck of an echo in there. Poor lonely little eggs.
