YO GEORGIANS! :)

Good news! I must not have screwed them up too bad because the two that had pipped are cracked more and a third has pipped! I can't tell if the last one has or not, because I think I accidentally faced the air cell away from me.

UPDATE:
As of 5:30am the Marans egg has hatched! From here she looks beautiful and perfect! (And boy has she got some Lungs!) Once she's dry and fluffy I'll take her out and we'll see if there's anything wrong. I'm so happy!
(please pardon the quality, it's with a flashlight and a cell camera.)

6:30 second chick is out! This one is one of the maran mixes' eggs and was one of the two pipped last night. No progress on the third pip yet, and still nothing on the light bramah mix egg!

Yea!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you!

Gosh I would love to, but our schedule is insane. We can't even schedule vacation because of baseball. But DS loves it, so we are along for the ride! Economy does have a decent swap, but if you are wanting covered dish, someone's home might be best.

I know in Savannah we could meet at Lake Mayor. Its family friendly and we can bring chicks if we like and a covered dish. Time wise we would have to do after the weekend of June 6th. We have dance re its and rehearsals.

The chick has been given vitamins and seems to be doing better I don't know if it wishful thinking though it moves around like normal then the next time I check on it its feet look like it has arthritis its toes curled in . I feel like I need to be doing something more for this baby everyone in the house checks on the little thing we all want this baby to pull threw .

Oh! I sure hope so too!

just wondering how/where some of y'all store your feed? Ideally I would like to store it out in the shop. It's the closest outbuilding to the chicken yard. At this time, it is not so ideal due to roof leaks, active termite infestation, general moldiness and a mouse issue. It's a hot mess until we have the time/$ to get it fixed.

40 gallon metal garbage can with lid, with a rubber strap holding the lid on

I use Rubbermaid totes for my horse feed but a lot of people use metal trash cans too. One guy I know who has several horses uses and old freezer cleaned of course. I know you didn't ask about horse feed but figure it would be a similar case.

Thanks y'all. I was leaning toward the metal but was considering a rubbermaid container. I'm mainly worried about rust(?). We will have to keep it outside under cover until repairs are done. I'm worried about the wet & moldy conditions in the shop. I hate going in there unless it's absolutely necessary. We've had mice destroy lots of things in there but I can't recall them destroying any of the plastic totes.
