YO GEORGIANS! :)

When I put juvies and adults together, I raise the adult (layer feed) feeder to where the young ones can't reach.. Then within the run, I put my XL wire dog kennel and put a starter/grower feed in that. I put cardboard over the door opening and cut a square that's big enough for the littles to fit through but too small for the adults.

This keeps everyone getting the correct food and also serves as a safe place for the babies to eat in peace.

I'll totally be stealing that setup from you! LOL

I have 2 sets of birds who are quite a number of weeks apart! I like the use of the dog kennel for sure!

Feed all fock, or flock grower flockraiser etc and a side dish of oyster shell. They'll take the oyster shell as they need it, the young ones and roosters that don't need the extra calcium won't pay it any attention. Its actually not good to feed everything layer feed any way.

No body wants their roosters getting cranky every 28 days...
I'm with you. My rooster, duck, adults, juveniles, laying hens and chicks all eat Purina Flock Raiser with oyster shell on the side. It's so much easier buying one bag of food instead of 3.

Gachickennewbie came by today. She took the rabbit. And she got the 2 nn chicks.... I am not convinced they will actually make it to Ellijay....lol.

LOL!

Just because I was holding the naked chicks while I was sitting in traffic means nothing. hahahahaha

It was great times! Love spending time with Robo, GAM, and their wonderful family.

I named the rabbit Voodoo. He's a sweetheart!

And FYI for the rabbit keepers-Flower taught me how to grow fodder for the hens. The barley fodder is apparently very nutritious for rabbits so Voodoo will be getting it as a supplement to his feed.
