YO GEORGIANS! :)

My hens started laying last week! Also, how long do eggs last on the counter? How much should I sell eating eggs for? (per dozen)  Thanks-:)
 Congratulations!:thumbsup

I've heard up to a few weeks, but don't wash them. It removes the protective bloom. I sell mine low bc its mostly friends and family $3/ doz. I could easily get $5 on Savannah.

So after a broody comes off/is taken off the nest how long do i have to wait for her to return to laying eggs? This whole only one hen laying eggs thing is for the birds.
My broody last year began pushing her chicks away around six weeks I think, and began laying again shortly after. Not sure how it affects things when you take them away (whether it might shorten, prolong or have no bearing on things)

Inside it's ready for move in. I decided to work in the rain today. The little things were just waiting for rain to stop. Then I realized it wasn't gonna stop any time soon. LOL
So, now they can move in & i can get the run started.

lol yes but it does drive me crazy. I took her away from the babies 2 weeks ago and she still hasn't started back laying yet.

First you have to consider postpartum depression. A little prozac in her water should help. Then since you took her away instead of letting her do it naturally, you now have separation anxiety to deal with. Crumble some fluvoxamine in her food. Play her some soothing reggae music and have a therapist visit 3 times a week and you should have eggs again by Christmas.
