myself. Can't help but love him, though.
wait, there's another one of me somewhere! GOD SAVE THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bahahahahaha

was down at the coop earlier, saw one of the ameraucanas going into the nest, so now I know which one is laying for me. Anyway, she sure was talking as she went in there. All the others that are laying now, came into the coop and they were all 'chatting' with her.......LOL

but the other three ameraucana pullets, the ones that aren't laying yet, were all outside. Guess it doesn't mean anything to them yet. Even the rooster was in the coop, but he wasn't saying anything. Guess even at 25 weeks old he's already learned to keep his mouth shut when the women are discussing childbirth..........

did you get the culprit?

@Flowerbh - how's she doing today?
no it didn't come back guess cause of the storms earlier, barn yard sure is quiet without the girl yelling "come back" if you want guineas get only males wow was that girl non-stop but I do want another one, kinda miss the annoyance. but I am still on vermin duty

She died last night. Not sure what happened. Her comb was a healthy bright red, too, so I am thinking that it was a sudden thing. We had a huge storm yesterday and things got blown around. She could have gotten hurt, scared (to death) or she could have been bitten by a copperhead or she could have been egg bound. Just not sure. No, I didn't autopsy her. Had appointments this morning so we just buried her.

aww, man I hate that. The unknown is the worst, and not having time to try to find out.

mixed responses, add your insight please and we'll decide if we like it or not

LOL

The Ag agent that was at my candling class stated that the candling license is required for any and all egg sales taking place off of the property where the eggs are laid. However, the sale must be to end user. There is a whole different license required to sell for resale. (that includes selling to stores as well as restaurants)

The broker/dealer license as explained to us by the 2 Ag agents that were at Cliff's first swap/sale day ... required for all live bird sales as well as hatching egg sales. Now I have since found other information that suggests that chickens that are hatched/raised on your property, their hatching egg sales do not require the license. Same case for the chicks ... if the parent birds (both of them) were hatched and raised on your property you do not need the license. Now where it seems that version 1 and version 2 come together ... all hatching egg/live bird sales taking place off premises require the license.

so................

if I hatch some chicks, that I then raise to adulthood, and breed, their chicks or eggs don't require me to have a license as long as I only sell from my place? what if I sell them on craigslist or ebay and ship? How could they prove I DIDN'T hatch and raise my breeders? Are we supposed to be keeping birth, I mean 'hatch certificates'???

LOL

I have a candling license, and intend to get the poultry license. I honestly can't say why I haven't gotten it yet, other than I don't want my property registered as a poultry producing place so they can some snoop around whenever they want

what if I wanna sell egg sammiches? hmmm????

LOL I actually DO have a serv safe certification that doesn't expire until next year. Of course I don't have a restaurant business license.

So very much of it all relies on trusting that people will do the right thing.
