YO GEORGIANS! :)

Thank you! I will let my daughter know what you said about Seramas. I have another question for you. I have a hen from some of the hatching eggs I got from you back in April that has little white heart shaped spots on her. She is beautiful. Is that a Swedish Flower trait? I will try to get a picture of her and show you.

Does she have a crest? It is possible you got a purebred Swedish Flower. I would like to see a photo!

Good morning everyone! Gonna be a great day! Temp tonight here is suppose to be 48! Nice open-the-windows night! AND, we saw a bear in the yard last night! Love seeing them, they are such wonderful creatures!

Hi!! I just picked up 10 purebred Ameraucanas. They about 6 weeks old. Since they are purebred I figured someone may want the Roos. We previously grilled our unwanted Roos. I figured I'd ask some chicken people nearby If they were interested in them. We can cull them ourselves, but if someone wants them to keep they can have them. I'm not 100 percent sure how many yet. We have both black and blue!

I have 30 chickens and purchased 12 more today. I have easter eggers, olive egggers, Copper marans, RIRs. Today I got English crele orpington rooster, rhode bar hens and jubilee orpington rooster. Can anyone tell me more about these breeds I bought today? I don't know anything about these breeds.

Good evening everyone. My turkey's began gobbling this week. Looks like i have 1 male and 2 females. In celebration of owning turkeys and the fact we have become chicken crazy i purchased a new keepsake.

The birds have all gone goofy at the farm ... everyone is acting like it is Spring again. Geese are fighting, chickens and ducks are breeding like rabbits ... full moon or something?

Hanks, our tom, was strutting around all poorer up this morning. I'm guessing the birds are all just so happy with the cooler weather.

Has anyone had lion head rabbits? Pros and cons of having rabbits, please.

I don't have a lion head, yet. But I do love love love my rabbit. If I had her spayed, I'd get more. But, the DH vetoed that. I adore them. If I had my way, I'd have one of each breed.

There's some really great info on the GA House Rabbit Society's website: http://houserabbitga.com/. I could go on for days about how awesome they are but here is a short list of pros & cons:

Pro:
The cute factor is astronomical
Their turds are awesome fertilizer
They can be litter trained (surprisingly easy to do)
They're super sweet(most of them anyway)
Their antics are entertaining (much like chickens, but more so)
They're extremely clean and constantly groom themselves
They're mostly low maintenance
You can teach them tricks, how to jump obstacles

Con:
Destructive ( this can be curbed with spaying/neutering)
-I'm pretty sure Lucille Bunn's mission in life is to consume my sofa in its entirety.
-the will absolutely chew cords, shoes, anything they can get their teeth into, but rabbit proofing the house will help with this. As I type this, Lucille is currently nibbling on the shirt I'm wearing.
They are willfu
They're not the best pet for young children, since they're not much on being picked up and such. However, Lucy's pretty darn cuddly and affectionate, otherwise.
They are social animals and do thrive best when they have a bunny companion. Or other animals in the household.
They need lots & lots of space and exercise

Another site that is helpful with TONS of info on rabbit behavior:

Seeing as how you love your chickens so, I have a feeling you may end up with a case of rabbititis.

When your husband asked me at the swap If I had chickenitis yet, I told him I had rabbititis instead.
