I'm fairly new to the area, but I think that's close to you?

Hi Flowerbh!

I am in Flowery Branch! We do have goats! I have 3 ND girls. 2 are hermaphrodites so they are just pets for me and I have one doe I am going to register and breed once I feel a little more experienced. We jumped into goats and chickens all in about a month and I have had a blast this summer with them! Hubby thinks I've gone a little crazy already planning on making our shed into a really big coop so we can have a nice little flock. We have ended up with 3 roos and a little golden mutt hen. 3 roos are barred rocks we got as chicks and raised. They are all that's left from our humble start in April! I am trying to figure out how to keep them or rehome now that I have gotten attached! I am certainly not a vegetarian but I am having a hard time with the thought of eating meat that I know before it's on my table!

Welcome neighbor! I'm also in Flowery Branch.

Hi! Our puppy despite preventative has whipworms. I would like to get our chickens tested. Does anyone know how in Georgia or know a poultry vet? I am also 8.5 months pregnant and don't really want to handle paste/undiluted (I would be willing to do wormer in water just not individual administration) wormer until after the baby is born. Any advise?
I have egg layers ten 19 weeks old and ten under 7 weeks old.

About coyotes. There are no documented attacks of coyotes on humans! Ever. Just on other animals. Don't be too afraid to go after them if you need to. I think I would just opt for those auto lights that have big eyes that scare things away.

@katsdar I had heard the same about shooting only if protecting livestock but not sure where and not even sure if it pertained to hawks at this point. I just decided not to until I had confirmation that it was the truth. Guess I'd better get to investigating!

I figured they'd not bother people. I imagine they'd rather not bother, but I can bet money that actually seeing one on my property up close & personal will probably startle me into a heart attack. Or at least a change of underwear.
