I have a splash from mating my blue rooster and blue hens that's going to look a lot like that. To clear up the color thing, (it's either blue or splash, there's no blue splash) here's a chart showing what comes from breeding different colorsThanks..Yes he is blue splash. The pics do not do him justice. Plus he would barely stand still long enough to get a good picture. Which is why the wire blocks some of the pictures. HAHA!
Cool, thanks! I read through the link. I'll have to check into the contraindications. I'm already taking an anticonvulsant, so I would need to see if there's a reaction with it and also 3 other meds I take. I'm a total freak about taking pills. If I can't find out all there is to know about it first, I won't take it. I don't like mixing things like that because I don't want to end up like Heath Ledger. I've learned that different types of specialists don't seem to be on the same page when it comes to knowing what meds will react badly with the ones they're not familiar with. My GI doc nearly killed me because he didn't know that Prilosec is a dangerous mix with Adderall. It was scary and now I'm paranoid.@katiedarling it's a pain med that's used for nerve pain, also used in the treatment of seizures and as an anti epiliptic.

Gabapentin is for nerve pain.. It may dull the pain for you, but if they're thinking you need surgery then the issue is likely more mechanical I assume. Like, if it's temporarily irritated/inflamed you could wait it out with meds until it the inflammation subsides.. If that doesn't happen, it may need to be surgically corrected in order to get relief, as opposed to something you can wait out/rest out.@PapaChaz
@ericinga So, this gabapentin stuff? What is it? I have been in the same boat as far as pain getting worse. I saw my physician in mid December who diagnosed it as severe tennis elbow but referred me to a Orthopedist because of the nerve stuff. She mentioned the likelihood of having to resort to steroid injections to get some relief from the pain. I wasn't able to get in with the specialist until Dec 23. Since 11 days without anything for the pain, my doc ended up calling in a pac of predinsone for a few days to get me through.
When I saw the specialist, ALL I SAID was that they needed to know that I don't do well with needles and that in order to prevent passing out, they need to lay me flat while they do it. That's how I was told in the hospital it should be done. So I don't smash my head or whatever. I guess she took it as me being too scared to do it, even though I told her I was in enough pain that I could suck it up and deal with the needles this time around. I just wanted it to stop. Instead, she sent me home with Voltaren Gel and then didn't have an opening for the EGD til Jan 14. I still don't see her for the followup until the 20th. I'm getting agitated AF because the gel is crap, I'm eating ibuprofen like it's pez and it kills just to hold my iphone or type this or the slightest basic task. Y'all know I'm a control freak & I don't have the patience to slow things down. Too much to be done & no-one to do it but me. And the rest of her advice as far as what NOT to do in order to manage it, was a total joke. Not gonna happen.
The dude who did the nerve test handed me the paperwork and told me he'd forward the results to my doc. I said hopefully the results wont require a surgical fix (it was mentioned). He said, it's kinda looking that way. I'm gonna call a chiropractor tomorrow because I'm sick of going under the knife. If I do, I would prefer it to be for something frivolous and elective. And of a plastic nature.![]()
hmmm. you make a good point there. It has been going on since May. The pain in the right arm, only escalated in Nov-Dec. The prednisone did help a little bit but it was oral and only for 6 days. I'm hoping that they're going to do the injections on the 20th. That hasn't been done yet. I would prefer they do that first and see if it does something. It was my physicians opinion that the injections were going to be the best, fastest route to take. I feel like it's the inflammation that's doing it because it's bad enough that you can SEE the swelling. Then, if that doesn't work, I'll consider surgery. She didn't really seem to be listening to me that well, so if she seems disinterested this time too, I'll find one who will.Gabapentin is for nerve pain.. So.. If you've truly given alternative measures a fighting chance and it's still limiting your daily life.....
Just my take on it.![]()

I'm in Moreland, right outside of Newnan. This Orthopedist was a referral. I wasn't even thinking about the fact that I didn't have to take the referral, I could've called the dude who fixed my broken ankle. He was pretty rad. I already had the appointment on the book, so with all the Christmas madness I just forgot to switch practices. I don't even know what the name of this doctor is. LOLKatiedarling where are you again? I know some great surgeons but seems like you're not in our area.
