YO GEORGIANS! :)

I hatch out my eggs in egg cartons. Keeps them from rolling around. AT lockdown, when I candle them, I put the lowest 'dip' in the airsac facing towards me. That way, all the pips will be facing me! They stay in place and as you can see, just zip out, pop the top off and come out.

Were any of these chicks from the few you had who had a curled toe? I wouldn't hatch those..but just eat their eggs.

Love this idea! No, my curly toes are my Speckled Sussex. Not quite laying age yet.

I'm going to try the cardboard on curly toe. The other ones are all now up and running around. I guess I panicked too early :)

3 more hatched, guess I will give them tomorrow as well The others are all eating now.

wow it that rooster is keeping 20 hens fertile I wanna know what brand feed you use. LOL

about half that is what I've always read, 9 or 10 per rooster at most if you're shooting for high percentage fertile eggs
It's the super Viagra blend

When using to egg cartons, cut out the bottoms and a lot of the sides. I use cardboard cartons. Let me know if you need more info. Congrats on your hatch! Isn't it fun!?!

Yikes. I'll shut my trap then. You are definitely a trooper. I'm a big whiny baby. For real. I guess it would be worse if I didn't have a sense of humor about it.

Lupus here, with Reynaud's Syndrome. Fingers and toes go numb , even in frozen food aisle of grocery store.

My MFD have STILL not hatched. :insert fit-pitching smiley here:

Do bantams not always hatch at day 18? Today is 19. All but two have internally pipped I think. Those two are working on it.
