we had a blast last year, their place is gorgeous and they have all kinds of neat animals. I'm still considering fencing in part of my spot here and buying a dwarf goat when she has some babies. The mama goat that is, not GAM

Funny you should mention that ... I have one doeling available now. Hoping to have lots of kids in summer.

we've kicked the idea around. I'm still not sure I really have enough room, I could fence off approx 1/2-3/4 of an acre. The land next to ours is tied up in an estate and I've talked to them about buying what joins us between us and the next neighbor, the house and the rest of the property is across the road, they should just give me this 2 acres or so, so they don't have the taxes and upkeep......

I just got home from work to find that my boyfriend didn't let the chickens out of the coop this morning. (I left before sunup and our policy has been that if that happens the second person lets them out)

I guess they were bored and/or hungry because they beat up our two speckled Sussex pretty bad. I've separated them, but I don't think one of them is going to make it.... She won't stand up for long and won't eat or drink....

If she doesn't make it and the other one is alone (but in an enclosure next to the other chickens) will she be OK or will she be too lonely? She's going to need at least a week to heal.

:( My poor girls.

Guess that leaves me out then. But I do have a reason. I have difficulty seeing/reading the small fonts most people use. Also helps me to identify the post where I have participated without trying to read all the fine print....and for me this IS regular font.
So there....
