this was the largest frosting bucket Walmart has. We don't have an ingles, and the Kroger here only gets small buckets, like a gallon size. I guess I should have worded my question differently, I really was only asking if y'all think these will be too small. It won't cost anything to try them I guess, LOL if they don't use em I can take em back out

NO roosters!

Only 6 hens on a half acre and only 6 per each additional half acre for a MAXIMUM NUMBER of 24 chickens.

No selling of chickens/eggs/poultry bi-products (I take that to mean litter)

Chickens must me kept contained in a closed pen.

These are just a few of the things from the paper today...obviously the statutes are being written by people who have no clue of what they are doing...they don't know a thing about raising chickens and have NO IDEA of the passion we chicken people have concerning our birds.

We are a rural county and really need none or very few regulations concerning back yard chickens. This coming at a time when most cities/counties are relaxing regulations due to difficult economic times as a way to assist citizens. I'm appalled at what they are planning.

There are so many things they don't understand. For instance, there are no hatcheries (that I know of) within hundreds of miles of us where we can pick up baby chicks. The minimum order from most is 15 chicks and others are 25. Where are you going to get 6 chicks if you want hatchery stock which many people do...??? You could order the 15, keep 6 and sell 9...If regs allowed you to sell...!

I have 10 plus acres and under these regulations I would only be able to have 24 chickens...!

I (and many others) have invested in incubators and sell off excess chicks. Under these regs that would not be allowed. Also can't sell table eggs or hatching eggs...for which the GA dept of ag clearly allows without license if eggs are picked up at your place and sold at other locations if you have a license. Does the state regs supersede local...?

If your have had experience dealing with "bureaucrats" like this I would appreciate hearing from you.

I worked in Marketing for Shaw Commercial in Calhoun for years. I also finished my first degree at the college there in Criminal Justice. I heard of regulations coming in hopes to stop the (Game) fighting chicken industry in Calhoun and all of Gordon county. What they don't understand is all chickens in the area aren't for fighting. Also, if these people are breaking the law by fighting chickens, chances are, new rules and regulations will make no difference to them. They will just try harder to not get caught. It has taken a while because they were talking about these new rules/laws in 2013 and I have already finished my bachelors degree at Shorter. Maybe they will never pass the law since it hasn't passed since 2013.

Ummmm.. I think we have an Ingles that I'm pretty sure you pass at least a couple times a week.. Could be mistaken though. :idunno

oh, you do have an ingles in Rockmart, but I'm in Cedartown. No we don't go that way to come to church, we cut off and come through town. I just absolutely forgot about that ingles being there. I was thinking more of MY home town

My Speckled Sussex pair. Can't wait to put them together and hatch some babies. She is 18 weeks and not laying yet. Still wish I had more Sussex hens that are old enough for breeding and of course laying so I could hatch more now.
 
I am in the process of moving to Williston, SC which is only a couple miles from the Georgia border. I'll be about an hour from Augusta & 2 hours from Savannah. Would love to make some bird connections in the area. Anyone here in northern Georgia?

we do have a few peeps who are in the Augusta area that will probably chime in! Welcome aboard, we don't mind if you're not quite in GA (now or after your move) jump on in!
