YO GEORGIANS! :)

I'm hoping to find some things I'm looking for at the poultry show, if not there then the swap.

Has anyone been to the show? What can we expect to find in the way of chicks/eggs?
Last year from what I saw it was more live birds than anything. BUT the weather stunk too. It was cold, windy and drizzly. I'm super-excited about this weekend's forecast. I'm hoping it will be way better/bigger on the vendor end.

Anyway like I said, lots of adult birds, some juveniles. A good many pairs and trios, especially of bantams. Several people had rabbits too. My son actually got tore up bunny wouldn't let him get one, and we've already been forewarned this year to not even ask.. Which tells me we'll just have to get one without him seeing us first. :gig

Its definitely a TSC, CliffB said that they got new products in for chickens, such as cups and mats. Well I can say for sure the Griffin TSC has NO new products, in fact they are not even stocking the nipple any longer, no nest boxes or anything new. Definitely TSC has management problems as well as trained people in their stores. Bottom line only look at profit, not customer satisfaction.
yes and He definitely took exception to my statement. LOL I hate it for him really. I actually even agreed with part of what he was saying, and acknoweldged they didn't all have good managers like him. but he chose to focus only on the fact that I generalized them all the same. Well that, and as a "manager" he blows off what are legitimate customer service issues with a 'by the things you complain about I know all I need to know about you'......like I care what he thinks. But it does show the mindset that customer service isn't a 'culture' for TSC, blame it on $8 an hour part time help all ya want, a good manager knows without customers his business won't survive.... He can block me, because his statement just proved maybe it is a TSC thing....

anyway, there are a couple of good employees at the one in Rome, I even had a real good discussion about the parking lot thing with the guy who was the manager at that time. Occasionally in a pinch I'll go in there, I get their sales flyers in the mail. it just really doesn't make sense to me to drive 45 miles round trip when I have 2 feed stores who can get what ever I need if they don't already have it for me, and they are 3 miles from me directly across the road from each other.....

Well shoot, I'm not looking for adult birds! Hopefully they'll have some eggs and peeps this time. I'll have to get a "shopping" list together... XD

Thanks Papa, I know Cliff may take exception and does not like to face the facts, their is good managers as well as good employees as well as good Kroger baggers etc. But TSC has the wrong mind set, I have had a better experience at CliffB store, where my local store refused me. Have had several cases that was nothing but a problem and hassle at Griffin TSC, from defective watered, to empty stock , even taking with manager about vent gleet, parasites, blow out in chickens and they were absolutely clue less and even today contrary to Cliff, saw nothing new for chickens in the store, in fact where chicken new products normally used to be is pallet after pallet of dry dog food

Well I'll be honest, I mostly admired from afar and didn't talk to many sellers. For all I know they had eggs and babies in their trucks/trailers.

That was my experience to. Cold and nasty weather, friendly people, lots of birds there for show to see but the swap part was disappointing. I understand folks might have been keeping the chicks home and out of the bad weather. It's 1 1/2 hours each way for me so I'm more likely to just go to the Blank Swap. (trying to stay out of trouble with crazy looking duck who said not to say Blank again).

Okay. I am 99% sure someone here said they have contact info for NPIP testing but I can't remember who. I am 100% ready now and sent an email to an address online but have gotten no reply. Anyone have a for-sure up to date contact?

Here is the contact info I have. It will depend on who the tester is in your area will determine on how long it will take. The tester will call you to set up your testing...mine took 3 months before he was able to come out and test my birds but here is the number I use.7709223496

Anyone in the Brunswick or SE GA area have rare breed hatching eggs for sale? I know there was someone on here a while ago that had Seramas. I have spent almost $1000 in shipped eggs this year and not loved the results. and really want to find some local hatching eggs. I'm interested in blr wyandottes, English Opringtons, svant hona, Swedish flower hens, or any other show quality breeder's eggs. If your a breeder I have a tone of rare breed Roos and need some pullets. Message me what you have and the price. Thanks in advance. I want good quality not hatchery stock.
