I just want everyone to know that I very much dislike this Tabasco Jack character. He met with GAM today to deliver some eggs. I had REALLY gotten my hopes up that he was going to keep her. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.................... She came home again.

Is it REALLY too much to ask for just ONE little kidnapping? This is just as bad as the time I tried to leave her at Flower's house and her husband put GAM back in my truck while I wasn't looking.

From this point forward I am invoking one rule. For anyone wishing to meet GAM, you must agree to keep her. Kthanks.

I've already got a wife, 6 daughters, 4 daughter-in-laws and a mother-in-law. The last thing I need is another female around!

As pleasant as it was to meet GAM and talk poultry stuff, it started to rain and I had to get back to working the farm.

No these are dark

Oh I saw the es in PA.. They are tiny and good color but don't really look like Brahmas. I have a Silver Penciled Rock that is the same color as the Dark Brahma. It is amazing how they look the same color even though they are two breeds.

Oh yeah they sure do! Yes, the size and faces (and well body too) look way off on the eBay eggs, though they ARE pretty birds.

Ack!! I totally forgot to lock down my eggs yesterday so I just now remembered. Two MFD were already pipped internally. Hopefully the low humidity doesn't negatively effect them til external pip... Right?

Anyway all was looking good.

So, I think I came home and went a little crazy!

Incubator #1 These aren't being turned on yet. May sell them and refill it and set for next week. That way, the eggs will hatch when I have all my kids/grandkids here in the middle of March!

Incubator #2 2 dozen Mottled Orpingtons and the rest mixes! (My friend also bought a dozen MO and asked me to hatch them) I did look them up on the internet and saw that they really are selling the chicks for $35 each! I can't wait to see what we hatch out of those eggs!

It was great fun seeing everyone!

D'Uccles ROCK. I loved the mottled ones (love blue mottled but didn't see any there) but MF are my all time favorite.

Yes! The D'uccles were so cute! Their little puffy cheeks are precious.

I've never seen any bantam or tiny chickens before. I had no idea I was gonna react to them the way I did. And the bantam modern game birds were cool, too. I really liked the
Japanese. I am now rethinking the decision not to add bantams at some point.
Edit to add: and really I just wanted to squeeze and hug every single freaking rooster there. not gonna lie. I wanted to bring them all home with me. Lol

I was so glad to see feathersaloft, flower, mr flower and feathers' friend (forgot to ask if she's on BYC?) today! I felt like a goob when I passed and thought, that lady sure looks familiar, and then realized it was feathers

If I don't see someone in a place I'm used to seeing them, it's like it's the first time

Then I was awestruck by all the birds on display and was literally making a shopping list of birds I want to add & birds to research a little first. You, sir, have my sympathy and forgiveness. That is A LOT of estrogen to deal with. I will exempt you from the "gotta kill...er...keep her" rule.

I am terrible with names & faces and I may have not recognized anybody and passed right by. If I did, my apologies.

It's okay. I was way ahead of you on that one. Seriously though, I'm GREAT with faces, AWFUL on where I remember them from. Usually it takes a few minutes for me to realize who someone is. Seems like just asking someone, "don't I know you from somewhere," would be simple enough, but I'd be doing so ALL the time.

Quick question,
So my new hen crops still haven't empty after 4 days so I gave them some grit to help so I gave them a layer of grit in a small bowl and they almost ate it all. When I felt ones crop it was now just full of rocks. Should I be concerned?

Not sure about the full of rocks but remove the food, and feel in the morning to make sure their crops are still full, if they are I heard if you tilt them down they should or might throw up but remember they gotta breath so don't keep them down for long.
