YO GEORGIANS! :)

Update on my eggs in the homemade incubator.

Last Sunday was 7 days and I had 25 fertile eggs. I checked the memory on my thermometer and it has fluctuated between 99.5° and 100° the past 7 days at 50% humidity. We candled today at 14 days and have 25 swimming embryos with nice size air pockets. I don't know why but I expected to have quitters, maybe because I read so much about egg Incubation. This is my first try so do you folks that incubate eggs have quitters often and do you have any hard learned advice for me as we go into this last week pleaseeeee?

I don't get quitters TOO often, and when I do they're usually shipped eggs. But even then, if it starts it usually grows. However when I do have quitters they're usually later in the game than early.

I wouldn't question your good luck!
It's not uncommon to have quitters, but it's not unheard of to have 100% hatches either!

I'm not going this month. Nothing to sell and I already got DH to take me to the Newnan show. I don't think he would go for a 2 hour drive (one way) two weekends in a row, Now, maybe next month when I have lots of chicks for sale!
I talked to Kevin the chicken man in Summerville and it looks like he may be able to fill your order this weekend!! if so, 1: do you still want your 2 BCM,2 Wels and 2 Lavs? He is going to call me this weekend.
