YO GEORGIANS! :)

We had 2 "special needs" chicks hatch recently. One of them was too bad to try to keep so he was humanely euthanized. The other one seems to be thriving. It has no eyes and the beak is slightly misaligned. It seems to be growing and appears otherwise healthy.

I've been getting the frosting buckets from the Walmart here for a while. Someone recently said that the closest walmart to her charges for them? Ours gives them away. The down side to your suggestion is the bulkhead is expensive! the one I bought when I made my barrel system was $13 at the big orange box store. I'm going to play around with a thread pvc fitting and see if I can just drill a hold in a bucket and screw it in with some silicone sealant, would be much less expensive.

I did find some barrels that had a fitting in the top you could screw out, the size of a 3/4 PVC fitting, but the ones he had that day were all busted and wouldn't hold water. I'd love to find a couple of those to use for sure!
That sounds good, also FYI - Amazon has bulkhead fittings @ $ 6.50-7.50 ea. downsize with small orders you may pay for shipping. I ordered my hardware cloth from them, 4 Ft wide as could not find local so saved me on shipping when I got my fittings. Like your idea, may have to try it. Thanks

McDonough TSC starts 9am to 3pm saturday the 27th

$5-$20 is what I was thinking of charging, or at least that's what most people seem to be charging. I got the buckets cheap and ordered the nipples online pretty cheap, too.

I've made a couple for my own birds already, too and they seem to work great!

Which 2 of you was it that was in on the turkey order?

Meeeeeee I was one!!!!!!!

ok nice information! when I was doing mine, it was a 'right now' kinda thing and I didn't want to wait on an amazon order. I did order my HW cloth through amazon though and yes it was definitely cheaper! Will have to remember that, though the last order I made on Amazon part of it was supposed to arrive Aug 8th, and I still haven't gotten it and they wanted to make me jump through hoops to get the $8 back. This was after one of their reps had already just went ahead and did an instant credit on $11 on another part of the order that was defective. They never could explain why I could get that back instantly, but had to go through 962 steps to get the other. Kind of soured me on doing business on amazon.....

One of my two is like the second, but she has eyes, they're just smaller than usual it seems? I think she might be blind or greatly impaired anyway because she's not figuring out the food and water, no matter how many times I or the other chicks show her. I don't think she's going to make it.:(

I am kind of glad to see this is a thing that just happens though, I thought I had screwed up some how.

Papa Chaz: Totally agree with you about Amazon, and for what they charge for shipping, and other hassles I have also gotten soured on them. One thing though I do though is look where their product or item is coming from then go straight to that companies web site and order. Thus cutting out Amazon, saves some on shipping and usually faster delivery and less hassle. Just ordered some Big Ole Bird Probiotics and Amazon wanted $ 9.95 for shipping and probably would have taken a week or better to get. Ordered from my Pet Chicken, saved $ 3.00 on shipping and got it in three days.
