YO GEORGIANS! :)

What kind and are they really a pain to raise along with my chickens, are they worth the investment in time etc? I have them on my spring radar, but I've never raised any.
We ordered the Broad-Breasted White poults and last time we had some, though they were older when we got them, they were well worth it. Very nice birds that produced very large amounts of meat when processed. I cheated and skinned them instead of plucking ... and the post process weight with skin, innards, etc. removed they each still weighed over 22 pounds.

As a first time Turkey Mama please excuse the 101 questions. How long before I could invite one I raise to Thanksgiving dinner and is it worth the extra feed and housing?

The two that we had before were free-ranged with very little supplemental feeding so from that standpoint it was absolutely worth it. Then given the quality and quantity of the meat ... yep, worth it. As for time to process, spring birds this year will be ready for the Thanksgiving table. You can get these birds to much bigger size than we did but they will end up having some of the same issues as the fast growth broilers.

One of my two is like the second, but she has eyes, they're just smaller than usual it seems? I think she might be blind or greatly impaired anyway because she's not figuring out the food and water, no matter how many times I or the other chicks show her. I don't think she's going to make it.:(

I am kind of glad to see this is a thing that just happens though, I thought I had screwed up some how.
Awww. Poor chickens. Have you googled Mumble the Blind Chicken, yet? I think she has a facebook page. She was born with no eyes but is thriving and happy as far as I know.

Sometimes, they make her little special "prosthetic" eyes:
