YO GEORGIANS! :)

good luck! I have a small water container in the incubator with the eggs in it. Much water at all in that one it shoots to 70%. The other one I just bought yesterday, right now I have water in the two outside ones, trying to get it to come up over 60% tomorrow is lockdown day for me on my first dozen, I don't have to put them in until later in the day. Still playing with getting it stable. Pretty satisified with the temps, just the humidity.

I need to google how to make sure the hygrometer is reading right and adjust, if I can, to what ever it needs to be. the one thing I don't like about this thing, is I get different readings if I put it in different places inside it. This is why I've tried to put the water on both sides to see if that will help even it out.

Didn't you say you got still air incubators? That's why I don't like still air ones. It doesn't distribute the heat and humidity evenly like the fan assist ones do.

the one with the eggs in it right now has a fan, the newer one I bought for hatching doesn't have. I can add the fan for just a few dollars, which I may very well do tomorrow

Be careful, you don't want to lift the lid once the eggs start pipping. It can cause them to shrink wrap. Think about you in a shower where it is all nice and warm and then you turn off the shower and you are fine until you pull back the shower curtain and the cold air hits you! Your skin shrivels up with cold! That's kind of what happens to the chick and membrane inside the egg when it pips and you lift the lids.

I went into lockdown at 4:30 today and have a lot of water surface in my homemade bator. In the bottom is two steam table pan tops made of foil. The first lid has two bowls of water and the other lid has 7 cups of water just poured in. I got two of the temp and humidity gauges with a sensor that hangs inside and they run within a 0.1° and a couple % humidity. My bator has two fans and reads the same anywhere inside. I'm really new at this and have no experience but I have read the fans eliminate hot and cold spots. I was surprised to see the eggs move so much after taking them out of the turner. I hope you get it worked out and good luck!!!
