I wanted ducklings so badly this year, but SOMEONE told me no... Ugh.![]()
I wish! All for chickens, but I'm the only one in the family that holds a special soft spot for ducks, so I'm only able to keep my threeRude! Lol. I came home with two, sure I would be in big trouble, and he said "Why'd you only get two!?" We went and got 4 more to make it an even 10 ducks now haha. Getting chicks next week. Having baby fever and trouble concieving is a bad mix during hatching season!
awesome! man I like that incutherm! where did you acquire that? I'm still a couple of hours from my hygrometer test being finished. With a drink bottle cap full of wet salt, sealed in a zip lock bag, it's supposed to read 75%. neither of these cheapies that I have are adjustable, so I'll just mark how much off they are and go from there. Definitely going to get a computer fan and put it in the other bator tomorrow morning. Something slow moving, just to circulate the air in itI went into lockdown at 4:30 today and have a lot of water surface in my homemade bator. In the bottom is two steam table pan tops made of foil. The first lid has two bowls of water and the other lid has 7 cups of water just poured in. I got two of the temp and humidity gauges with a sensor that hangs inside and they run within a 0.1° and a couple % humidity. My bator has two fans and reads the same anywhere inside. I'm really new at this and have no experience but I have read the fans eliminate hot and cold spots. I was surprised to see the eggs move so much after taking them out of the turner. I hope you get it worked out and good luck!!!

awwww, what a bunch of cuties! you too
awwww, what a bunch of cuties! you tooI put my eggs on lockdown at 3 pm tomorrow, going to have to find a computer fan to put in that thing and circulate that air
I actually found a battery operated 'necklace fan' at walmart for less than 6 bucks last night. Seems to be circulating the air pretty well and hopefully will alleviate the hot spots. Now to figure out a way to divide the eggs so I can tell the AM's from the aussie crosses...........hahaha thanks, that up the nose shot is a great one of me. But they're so dang cute I can't NOT post those pictures.
Hope you get your incubator circulating right, we were going to get one going and hatch some ducks and chicks, but since these little ones magically appeared out of nowherewe may wait until later.![]()
