YO GEORGIANS! :)

I got one of these chicks from our local TS a few years back.  It survived and did well until the bear broke down the door to our coop and ate her.  Was so sad!
Well this post took me for an emotional roller coaster ride.

This has been my experience as well. The ones I got that were shipped are having some real problems with it, but all my local pick ups and home hatched have always been fine.
This is my first shipped babies, and only one had pasty butt, now it's fine, but the desitin really helped its little sore butt, try it. and I took the feathers off so it can't really stick too bad, still sticks some

So since my eatin' egg hens are kinda bullies to my younger BR flock, I thought I'd throw them in the Brahma pen until my BR roo matures a bit and then throw them back with him. In the meantime I went out to see where the new girls of the pen chose to roost for the night. They made themselves right at home on the main perch. I asked hubby what the weight limit is on this thing.. Big Boy alone weighs probably 14# and his ladies aren't light eaters either!

Nope, at that point it has been written off in the system and it belongs to you. Each store normally has 1-2 people on their "list" and the receiver will contact that person. The birds will need to be picked up by the end of each day. Some people have had very good results with the birds. A little patience and vitamins and electrolytes and it's like nothing ever happened.

Does not apply to all TSC stores !

Ah chick season, a time for ups, downs and where did mind go. So far I've hit it at full throttle. My Dear Sweet Hubby who is not really a part of the whole chicken thing just a casualty said I've got chicken fever without even realizing it's a real condition lol. So I promptly held up my (thank you Cliff for keeping it safe until I could get it) Nutrena feed prize tshirt which states "Feeding you chicken addiction since 1921" on the front and "GET ADDICTED" on the back. I said see I even have a shirt for it so I am okay...more head shaking and eye rolling.

Any who. As previously stated in another post I drove in that bad nasty weather to pick up my babies and my shirt lol from 4:10pm until 7:30pm the other night. My incubator is hitting my scrap pile as the humidity dropped like a rock over and over despite being monitored by myself of DH during the day and night to the point that I thought nothing would/could hatch out. Big surprise one of the Blue Copper Marans zipped and busted out in 30min flat (it's a beast), 4 others got stuck (turns out shrink wrapped as the humidity dropped drastically again). I know don't help but I felt I had an outside chance knowing it was a shrink wrap vs development issue so I did. Two did not make it and the other two still have a bit of helmet head where there feathers are still stuck down, I did not want to further traumatize them with a bath just for that. Now the Mama's out there wont have any issues with this next bit. I noticed the hard to see black head and eyes of one looked funny and it kept walking to one side. On closer inspection it's eye was still stuck closed so I spit on it in true Mama style and worked it free...happy chick and was not concerned in the least with what the other chicks thought (after all it could now see right lol). This weekend is busy including sitting in my brooder with my babies and offering Nutradrench/Polyvisole water to my 2 help out babies while everyone scurries about me and takes the odd sip to. This and my catalytic converter now need to be replaced and I am still going do a 5 hour round trip up to pick up CCL chicks next weekend. Sooo do I need to take my temperature to see if this chicken fever hubby said I have ha maybe gotten to a dangerous level lol?
