YO GEORGIANS! :)

and since I'm posting projects, today I took some left over stuff and built a bench to set my kitchen brooder on so I don't have to get down in the floor to deal with chicks Nice you did a great job ! and a new bin feeder for my bantam pen. Found the paint in the 'ooops' section at Home Depot for $9

That's about what I was wondering...
the cattle panels at TSC are about 20 bucks a piece, or that's what they were when I built my hoop run. Maybe he'll come back and give a materials list, but you're probably looking at at least 3 sheets of plywood. Not sure what that roof is, but the 2x for the framing are countble. I'd drop it to 8ft myself instead of 8 1/2 to eliminate some waste......The hoop coop/run I used for a pattern was actually on here 5 or 6 years ago. do a search for it and you'll find it, the members name who built it escapes me at the moment

Soooo.. These cattle panels.. They bend easily? And how would one secure them to the top edges of a chain link enclosure?

yeah they bend easy enough, but I'm not sure how you'd want to use them for the roof of your chain link enclosure. They put out a LOT of outward pressure at the bottoms when you 'arch' them. I'm not sure a chain link enclosure would hold up to it. I'm going to have to go along the sides of my frame on the bottom of mine with some more support, they're pushing the boards out. I'll probably drive some pipe or something in the ground a few feet to stiffen it up.

Well, I actually was thinking if the arch won't work, I'll just leave them flat.. Maybe bump them up on one end so my tarp will still drain?

Put corner braces in on each corner, better if you set the braces so they are flush, then you can use hog ties or bailing wire to connect the hoops at the top of the arch ( easier with two people on this step) use one x fours on each end for support and to use cattle staple to staple the edge of hoop to them.

http://wholeviewfarm.blogspot.com/ if you click on this link, then when the page opens look on the right side of the page towards the bottom of page, scroll to you see " building " and that will take you to plans for chicken coop hoop building using cattle panels, material list as well as step by step directions. You can the modify to your own needs and likes.
