My name is Katy, and I'm addicted to chickens. LOL
Darn chicken math kicked in AGAIN. i was not planning to get anymore, as I wait for my youngsters to grow, and well, maybe hatch some once the new incubator is ready.
But a lady on one of the Facebook groups was looking to rehome a flock. Her husband was transferred out of state with very little notice (less than a week), and since they do not have a home down in Florida, let alone a coop, she sold her flock. I had to head in her direction with my racing pigeon gig, and she met me at the interstate. These were her babies and she was very upset. Hubby had to do most of the talking.
4 EE, a barred rock hen, a red sexlink, 2 black sexlinks and a black Australorp, with a nice big gentle (so far) Barred Rock rooster. All just at a year old.
Plus, 6 silver laced cochin chicks, about 6 weeks old, 4 red sexlink chicks about 2 weeks old, and 11 bantam cochin chicks, about 2 weeks old. She said the bantam cochin chicks were sold to her as all pullets.
The adults are in my quarantine coop (thank goodness I had 2 empty bulidings since I sold 65 pigeons last month), and 6 of the 9 laid yesterday.
But with that said, I'm looking to sell the bantam cochins, since I really don't mess with bantams myself. Yes, they eat less, but my egg sales are what pay to feed everyone.
I have someone coming tonight to buy 2 of the chicks, so that leaves 9 I have them on a couple of facebook groups at $4 each, but would sell all 9 for $30 if anyone is interested.
I'm guessing they are buff, black and not sure of the striped ones. Partridge?
