YO GEORGIANS! :)

Who else here has Crested Cream Legbars? I have the one Cream Legbar x Marsh Daisy Cockerel that is at 10.5 weeks now and then i also have a pullet that is 6 weeks old and the pullets crest is amazing. This is one neat looking bird. I wasn't sure at first if i would like the looks but the crest alone is doing it for me already.
I have 15 with 12 more fertile eggs in the bator now. Mine are a little over 3 weeks and half have crest now. I like their looks also and have read that they're great free range foragers.

I have a friend that is a frequent flyer with GFF and has breeding pens of all of their breeds so he convinces me to try lots of unique birds.

We just hatched out Bielefelders and Sulmtalers. I don't keep them all and I only have Brahmas penned up breed specific. I just like having a lot of variety.
That's me. I prefer to have 20 of 20 different breeds so i can appreciate each of them. I would love to get another Brahma at some point and a Salmon Faverolles but for right now we are going for egg color over anything else.

So i've got three chicks in the brooder at the moment. One is a white leghorn pullet. No big deal. Small, flighty, if i can't sell her she will be an excellent white egg layer. Unfortunately the other two are one Buff Orpington Cockerel and one Freedom Ranger Cockerel. However the good news. They will age out around 12-14 weeks right at July 4th!

I'm going to have 1 free range group with different breeds and then 3 hoop coops in 1 acre fenced lots for specific breeds if things don't change. I'm working on the second hoop coop now and need the 3 completed before all these chicks grow up. Garden, farm maintenance and chickens do keep me busy.

My CCL and 6 BO that a broody hatched are due to go to the big chick room at the barn tomorrow.

Ten days in on these eggs

I am kicking out the Cream Legbar and Cayuga as we speak. They've been outside with the adult birds for the last week and so tonight they will be sleeping together. Also spent the day deep cleaning and sterilizing the coop so everyone should be happy tonight.
