YO GEORGIANS! :)

So I know you all missed me during the last week. I had quite a nice vacation from GAM over in Anniston, Alabama. AND got paid to be there. I plan to go back as soon as possible. No GAM is GOOD.
Was wondering why it was so quiet and peaceful,

Just remember GAM knows where you live, I'd be careful if I were you. You have to sleep sometime

Broody report! 7/8 of the MFD eggs are developing, 1 MFD wasn't and the bantam Brahma mix wasn't but the LA egg from @feathersaloft is developing too!

update on the littles that we brought home from the bbq:

They're growing fast. The pecking order between the babies is working itself out. Vesper the Blue AM hasn't picked on them much since the first couple of days and the replacement Dorothy is sweet as ever.

My question is about Vesper here. If y'all remember she was panting quite a bit from the heat that day and I notice she's still panting quite a bit. even when it's not hot outside. I know she's at POL, and she did start exhibiting the squat when I reach down to pet her or pick her up the last couple of days, so she's close. Would her being ready to lay her first egg soon be a reason for her to pant so much? She's crying alot, too. If that's what you call it, and her tail is down. It's almost like she's lonely, like a lost pppy. Her lungs sound clear, no sign of illness. I know we are in a different usda zone as far as temps are concerned, I'm sure it's a bit cooler up where she's from. Is it just the heat?

Last night, she was on my lap and I thought her feet felt awfully hot, so I sat on the pool steps and dunked her little feet for a bit and she seemed to cool of temporarily at least. any thoughts?

In this hot weather I provide an open tub of water a couple of inches deep in addition to the nipple waterers. They can step in it, soak their combs and generally make a mess with it. But, yea, my heavily feathered birds pant a lot.

Now that you're back, I've got a 6' rat snake that I caught today. Which pen would @GAMarans want me to put it in when I bring it over?

Oh yeah! Stanley & The Golden Girls did the same last summer. Those Orps with all that down look like they're wearing parkas! LOL I had fans rigged up everywhere. I checked on Vesper this morning. The only reason why I was leary of it just being from the heat was the whining like a puppy. Never heard that before. Her crop wasn't totally empty this morning, which explains a lot. So, thankfully that's an easy fix. She is such a sweetheart, too. Almost as sweet as the little BO. I can't stand to see her uncomfortable.

Your suggestion about turning thie swimming pool into a giant duck pond isn't seeming such a bad idea this week. LOL
I'm about ready to blow my head off.
