YO GEORGIANS! :)

I found Amazon was the cheapest for hardware cloth, especially if you want 48" and you are looking for like 100 Ft rolls. Seems like difficult to find both these Iberia locally.

So far on 36", Ladds in Cartersville is beating Amaxon. Thank you @ericinga for the heads up.

I was all excited about hatch day but I always forget I start in the evenings. So hoping for lots more action overnight and tomorrow.

3 blue Ams, 1 bantam, 1 buff orp from @silverhill, and I unlabeled chick just coming out. All on the top shelf.
Nothing on my bottom shelf which is the blue and green swap eggs and the brown swap eggs besides the BO.

This is a LOT of cute crammed into one picture.

I am 99.99% sure they are both hens. By now you would see bright red or at least that is what I saw on Yoda at that age. Just pray their combs stay just like they are now.

Yoda's baby picture:

See how red it was once he was fully feathered.

Awesome. I sure hope you're right!

eeek. my gag reflex is weak. doesn't take much.  Iremember a friend when  Iwas in middle school had one. I recall it still had a teeny faint stink still there, but he sure was cute! especially when he got mad. he'd spin around and try to spray you but noting happened. Just looked like he was dancing.
That is one nasty stank my dad hit one with his car up in Pittsburgh the smell never came completly out he tried everything to kill the smell .

[I did the candling class today I just love being with chicken people I always learn something new . The carrollton Ag dept . Is wanting ideas on what kind of classes chicken folks would like to have . Any one with ideas they would like to hear from you . When I get the info for their web page I will post it .

What is it about chickens and cameras? They're worse than kids when it comes to taking photos.

I think I got 3 little marans.

Oh, and the best way to break a broody hen is to prepare a place for her, get eggs, candle eggs and then move her. Seems to break them more often than not.

First hatch in the new incubator is hopping along.
Learned a few things.

Most of the 21 on the top shelf came from my eggs, the 48 on the bottom were from the egg swap.

My top shelf is doing great. So far 10 of 21 are hopping around the hatching trays.

Bottom shelf has 5 of 48 so far. A few pipped but we aren't through yet.

I need a hose to top off water in my new cabinet without opening.

My hatching trays DO need a back (or chicks drop off the back when drawers are pulled forward.

Might need a water pan on the bottom, instead of 2 on top. Although I will need a screened cover so no one somehow falls in.
