YO GEORGIANS! :)

I'm in West Georgia, Carroll County, Temple to be exact.
Welcome ... we aren't too far from you. Might have to get some mealworms from you.

I will most definitely let you know when they are ready. I have about 350-400 very sexually active beetles right now so I'm hoping to have my first batch of worms ready by August. I don't know anywhere around us that sells them so I'm hoping to have pretty good luck. I've always liked bugs so this could be a win-win for me.

I really enjoy my colony. Just freshened it up, sorted and with the best they are going to town!
Hardest part is not feeding them all to the chickens!

Oooh! Forgot to update.
So I ended up with 26 chicks
1 of 1 bantam
8 of 11 blue Ameraucanas
1 of 1 SBEL
0 of 2 lavender Ameraucanas
1 of 6 buff orpingtons
3 of 21 colored eggs ( of those are feathered leg naked Necks)
7 of 27 brown eggs. One looks like Beau, 2 look like black Cochins. Most of the rest are dark reds.

What I learned...
Incubators heat may read correct on the front of top and bottom shelves, but rear is not as warm.
Humidity was a problem, and even with 2 square cake pans was never reading over 45%.

I only had wet bulb at the top, so no idea of true humidity on other shelves.

11 of 21 eggs on the top shelf hatched, compared to 5 of 58 on lower shelf.
Giving eggs another 2 days since temps were uneven.

We are adding another water pan for lockdown and another fan to the bottom. Will try again, but only a dozen at a time!

But, my hatch was slightly better than with the foam incubator. 36% instead of 33%. So hoping with these changes it will climb.

Wanted to share pics of my new baby. Yes, both are the same hatchling.
A NN, feathered EE!

Hatched from a blue egg, Flowerbh, who might the parents be?

I love the yellow belly and spots on the face.

Also have a blue one.
